Keep at It: Wellness & Self- Care

Simplify and then simplify some more. In the past few years, I have made it my priority to make sure all is well with me starting with the basics: social connectedness, exercise, nutrition, sleep, and mindfulness.


"Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you’re thriving."


I first started working out in college and believe me, it was a foreign concept. During that time, I stayed far away from the free weights. I needed the machines with the instructions on them so that I could be sure I was doing it right. Then came the acknowledgement of the the way it made me feel. I could go on a run allowing my mind time to ease up while listening to music, observing nature, people watching, and architecture.


Studies show that a balance among the Seven Dimensions of Wellbeing lead to a fuller, more satisfying life. Life is a journey filled with 'all the things', and each day is a practice. A blessing to wake up in the morning, but for a mind like mine constantly thinking of ways to improve. I have learned in ongoing therapy that it is absolutely okay to strive for greatness. However, to be our very best it is extraordinarily imperative to feel like our best selves during that process.


In this section, my team and I will share tips, insight, and discoveries revolving around self care, wellness, meditation, and mindfulness. As requested, I will share some of my workout plans and exercises with you as you see below.



I am very excited to share my journey with you as I hope it will allow you the opportunity to get to know me a bit more. We hope to make this fun, share some laughs, and learn more about you as you are more than welcome to leave comments and questions.
